“We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future”
-Franklin D Roosevelt
India has the largest population of young people in the world today. However, the majority of these youth are left without resources to achieve socio-economic success. The fight against poverty begins at school. Enabling children to complete secondary education, empowering them with life skills like teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and making them more resilient to the fallouts of poverty, will set in motion the process to undo poverty.
The challenges we are facing include:
Poverty
600 million young people living below poverty line.
Education Inequality
40% of females drop out of school by age 14.
Unemployment
29.5 million young people are unemployed.
Childhood Marriage
27% of girls still get married before they turn 18.
Consequences
Unrealized potential for millions of vulnerable youth
